Ability

He is able who thinks he is able.

Buddha

This really has me thinking about kids. Kids know what they are ready for -- it is the adults who do or don't trust the child. Kids don't always do things the way an adult would, but they are still able, because they are on their own path toward doing. It seems complications arise when this gets complicated (parents encouraging or discouraging a child) -- I think it muddles up their internal compass and their feeling of competency and accomplishment.
